Renovate and fully restore the 1925 cathedral and courtyard, paying reverence to the building's historical significance. Design a sanctuary to accommodate major musical and theater performances, with flexible acoustical systems to accommodate everything from jazz to spoken word. Provide improved educational and operational support spaces.
Designer Notes
For this, Hacker's first significant renovation project, we meticulously restored the cathedral, including the careful design and repositioning of every liturgical element. A new sanctuary in the revitalized interior offers parishioners an enhanced musical experience. The project also includes a five-block master plan for the Archdiocese complex and, in later years, restoration of the cathedral's bell tower.
