Project Info

Pearl West Office Tower
Portland, Oregon
237,000 sf
Completed 2016

Hacker in collaboration with GBD Architects

Inspired by the warehouse buildings of the historic Pearl District, Pearl West is a nine-story office building that responds to the different views, street character, and pedestrian experiences of Northwest Portland. The ground floor is home to 10,000 sf of retail space and features a solid building edge and a deep façade, increasing sidewalk depth and making space for café tables for a more pedestrian-friendly block. A dramatic canopy, reminiscent of the canopies over loading docks, marks the main entrance, and a covered terrace on the top floor offers views east to the mountains.
